The GoAffPro Affiliate Dashboard: A Quick Guide

GoAffPro provides affiliates with various tools to help them in their promotions. Every affiliate gets their own account dashboard when they register for a store’s affiliate program.

Affiliates can view various statistics regarding their referrals, access their referral link or coupon code, and set up their payment method, all from within the account dashboard.

Referral Details

Affiliates can view their referral details straight from the Home tab of the dashboard. The referral details include both the referral link and the referral coupon code (if provided by the merchant).

There are also options for direct sharing of the referral link on social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, etc. Affiliates can also use the product link generator tool in the Marketing Tools tab to generate trackable product links to share in their promotions.

Referral Information

In addition to the referral details, affiliates can also view the summary table. The summary table displays statistics such as number of referrals, number of orders, conversion percentage, sales, and earnings.

Affiliates can also view order details and various other widgets like the leaderboard widget or the traffic source widget. Merchants can enable these widgets from their end.

Profile Setup

Affiliates also get the option to enter their profile details from the Settings tab. It is also the tab where affiliates will be selecting their preferred mode of payment and setting up their payment details.

Affiliates can view their payment summary from the Payments tab. There, they can view the amount that has been paid, that is yet to be paid, and further details regarding previous payments.

Customization Options

If the merchant has enabled it, affiliates can also customize their referral link and referral coupon code. The referral code, which is the unique code present at the end of the referral link, can be edited from the referral code section in the Settings tab. The referral coupon code can be set from the Home tab.

Other than this, affiliates can also view media files such as promotional kits, banners or product images for promotions, etc. from the media assets section in the Marketing Tools tab. The merchant can upload these files from their end.

Tiered Commission System with GoAffPro

Many merchants look to set up commission tiers for their affiliate programs. They look for an option to set up a system where the commission rate for affiliates can change automatically as per the commission tiers.

GoAffPro provides merchants with an easy way of setting up a tiered commission system for their affiliate program. For setting this up, they can use the commission booster option.

Here we take a look at how merchants can set up a tiered commission system using the commission booster option in the GoAffPro app:

Enabling the commission booster option:

The Commission Booster option can only be used after merchants enable the Targets and Bonuses option in the Settings > Extras section (in the GoAffPro app).

After this, they can open the Targets tab and go to the Commission Booster section, to configure a booster from there.

Commission booster settings:

Here, merchants have different parameters for the booster to apply on, such as revenue, sales commission, network commission, total commission, number of orders, and new customer orders. There is also the option to choose the time period for the booster, with options such as current month or week, last 30, 60, or 90 days, last 1 year, and all time.

After this, the option to set the minimum value is given, where the minimum value for the booster to be achieved (as per the parameter). Finally, the boost percentage can be set up, which will be boosting the existing commission of the affiliate (when they become eligible for the boost).

Here we take a look at an example:

If a merchant wants to set up a three-tier commission system, where the commission rate is 10% for the first 15 orders, then the commission will become 15% for the 16-50 orders, and finally, the commission will become 20% when the affiliate crosses 50 orders.

To set up tier one:

For the first tier. merchants can simply set up the default commission to 10%. (The booster will be set only for the second and third tiers).

To set up tiers two and three:

For both the second and third tiers, the “apply on” parameter will be set to the Number of Orders, the time period will be set as All time.

For the second-tier, the minimum value will be set to 16, and the boost percentage will be set as 50%. This will boost the existing commission to 15% (50% of 10 = 5, and final commission after boost = 10+5 = 15%).

Similarly, for the third-tier, the minimum value will be set as 51 and the boost percentage will be set as 50%. This will boost the existing commission to 20% (50% of 10 = 5, and final commission after boosts = 10+5+5 = 20%).

Therefore, as per the above system, affiliates will earn a commission of 10% for the first 15 referral orders, after this, their commission will get boosted to 15% till the 50th order (by the second-tier booster) and finally, the commission will get boosted to 20% (by the third-tier booster) for any orders after that (from the 51st order).

Affiliate Commission Types & How They Work

Many merchants who are thinking about starting affiliate programs for their store, as well as people who are interested in becoming affiliates, are always wondering how affiliate commissions work and how are they set up? 

While starting an affiliate program for a merchant and joining an affiliate program for an affiliate can be easy, it is important to understand how the affiliate commissions work, as it is an essential part of the affiliate program. In the case of the merchant, there is also the added responsibility to set up and manage commission rates for their affiliate program. 

Here we take a look at how the affiliate commissions work and all the details that relate to it: 

How Affiliate Commission Works

Affiliates earn a commission if the customer either uses their referral link or the coupon code that encourages customers to visit the merchant’s store and purchase. There are now different types of affiliate marketing models where affiliates can pay for the number of visits that take place using their referral or the number of sales that customers place using their referral.  

These commissions are credited to the affiliate after the sale or visit is made. The commission then adds for each subsequent referral, and the merchants then pay the affiliate based on the payment terms for the program. In other words, the merchant pays the affiliate for bringing customers to his store. 

Setting the Commission Rate

Now, the setting up of the commission is an important part of running an affiliate program, merchants need to maintain competitive rates to compete with the competition. There are different types of commissions that merchants can set up for their affiliate program.

Default Commission: it is the Commission which, by default, applies to all affiliates and products in the store. This provides a single go-to option to merchants if they want to have a single commission rate set for everyone in the program. 

Product Commission: Here, a merchant can set different commission rates for different products in the store, allowing more versatility for merchants who can, for instance, adjust the commission rate for a product that they want affiliates to promote more by setting a higher commission rate for it. This can also be used for setting a different commission rate for a particular affiliate by selecting an affiliate and setting the commission rate to be applied to all products for that particular affiliate. 

Collection Commission: This can be used to set a commission rate for a specific range or category of products. If, for example, the merchant has accessories for the product, but wants to have a lower commission rate for them, as the accessories margins are already less, thus, this type of commission can be used where a single commission rate can be set for the entire collection or category of products. 

Fixed Commission: This type of commission is also referred to as royalty, which can be for an affiliate to receive a fixed commission for the sale of a product, irrespective of which affiliate refers to the sale. Thus, in addition to the affiliate which referred to the sale receiving the commission, the affiliate which is appointed to the fixed commission for the product will also receive the commission. A good example of the use case of a fixed commission can be graphic design or a t-shirt made by a designer, who can then earn royalties using a fixed commission for each t-shirt with its design that is sold. 

There is also the Commission Modifier option, which allows further customization of how commission rates can be set for the program, by using the Commission Modifier function, merchants can set different commission rates for the first-time customers, for customers in a particular country or products with a common name. These options can be used to make it very easy to handle different types of commissions for different products.
